Sarco Wicket - Perfobag gains ground in the fruit and vegetable branch

The Wicket-Perfobag developed by Sarco Packaging is gaining more ground in the potato, vegetable and fruit industry. The wicket bag offers a low cost price, flexibility, many printing possibilities and the perforation is tailored to the product and product presentation. This product is highly regarded by customers due to its use of high quality PE materials and the newest printing and perforation techniques.

Within the potato industry, the wicket bag has the edge at the moment over packaging made of foil and netting materials. The aeration of potatoes is important to dispose of CO2 and moisture as well as preventing the potato from suffocating. Packaging that lets through too much UV rays through will cause a rapid green discolouration of potatoes. Both the front and back of the packaging is made from one type of material and can be printed on both sides. It's possible to perforate the entire bag or just one side depending on the product's qualities. Printing prevents the influence of the UV rays while the perforation aerates.

In light of sustainability there is also a possibility to manufacture the packaging from biodegradable materials. The granulate is made from plants (which is renewable), making it carbon neutral and 100% durable.

Sarco Packaging has already sold numerous potato applications, and recently won a big order from the Fruit industry for this type of wicket bags to package apples. This order was sold in combination with Kwik-Lok clasps in 12 different varieties and the Manter Apple Wicketbaggers.
