The Turkish exhibition Interfresh Eurasia has been growing every year, since 2018. According to Murat Özer, general manager of the trade show organisation, the event has since managed to add value while serving the fresh fruit and vegetable industry of the region. "In all honesty, making the decision to move the trade fair from Antalya to Izmir in 2024 was not a very easy one to make. However, the numbers we see today are showing us that this was the correct decision. This year, our target was to increase the international effectiveness of Interfresh. Although it was a difficult year, due to frost in the region and economic turbulence around the globe, the numbers show us we have succeeded in increasing both the quality and quantity of our exhibitors."
Özer has seen more growth since moving the event to Izmir, especially in terms of international presence. "To ensure the sustainability of Interfresh, it's very important to increase the international effectiveness of the show as well. In 2023, Interfresh Eurasia hosted guests from 44 countries. In 2024, Interfresh hosted guests from 55 countries, and in 2025, we are expecting guests from more than 70 countries to the Interfresh Eurasia Exhibition. And so, I believe we've already increased the international effectiveness."
"Türkiye is a producer country, both in fresh products and the machine industry. However, we are also a natural hub and a bridge between two continents, Asia and Europe, also known as the Eurasia region. This year, you will find more Asian companies that want to promote their new packing and machine technologies to the Eurasia region."
According to Özer, the production of Turkish exotic fruits has increased, which can be seen on the exhibition floor this year. "On Interfresh, visitors will not just find exotic fruits from other parts of the world, but also exotic fruits that are produced in Türkiye itself. In the last few years, Türkiye has increased its exotic fruit production. As a result, a lot of varieties of exotic fruits, produced mainly in Alanya and Mersin, will be showcased at Interfresh Izmit this edition."
Although the exhibition is still two months away, 95% of the fairground has already been filled. As demand for the Hosted buyer and VIP program, the organization has extended the deadline to sign up for these: "Due to increased demand for our hosted buyers program, we have extended the deadline to sign up until the 18th of July. Please do not forget, that although we increased the capacity of the hosted buyer program, it still has a limited capacity. And we are serving on a 'first come, first served' policy," Özer concludes.
Interfresh Eurasia will be held from 18 to 20 September in Izmir, Türkiye.
