The Prognosfruit Conference, Europe's annual event for the apple and pear sector, will return to France for the first time since Toulouse in 2012. Prognosfruit 2025 will take place in Angers from the 6th to the 8th of August 2025. Organised by WAPA in cooperation with ANPP (Association Nationale Pommes Poires), the event will bring together growers and stakeholders from across Europe and beyond. Registration is now open via the Prognosfruit website, and both stakeholders and journalists are welcome to sign up.
Since its inception in 1976, Prognosfruit has been the platform for releasing the annual forecast of apple and pear production for the upcoming season. Each year, the conference is held in a different country, offering a fresh perspective on the sector. The 2025 edition in Angers will span three days, during which the new crop forecast will be unveiled. Participants will discuss market trends and challenges facing the Northern Hemisphere, as well as broader global perspectives for apples and pears.
The program includes a welcome reception on Wednesday, 6 August, at the Salon d'Honneur in the Hôtel de Ville d'Angers. The main Prognosfruit 2025 Conference will be held on Thursday, 7 August, at the Centre des Congrès d'Angers, featuring presentations on the European apple and pear crop forecast, as well as workshops on processing and sustainability. That evening, delegates are invited to a gala dinner at the Musée Jean Lurçat. On Friday, 8 August, the conference will conclude with technical visits focused on next-generation varieties and orchards.
Reflecting its commitment to sustainability, the ANPP has announced that Prognosfruit 2025 will be a carbon-neutral event. The emissions will be offset through dedicated orchard plantings, in line with the Eco-Responsible Orchards label.
Further details about the program, the online registration form, and accommodation booking options in Angers can all be found on the Prognosfruit website. Attendees are encouraged to register by 8 June 2025 to benefit from the Early Bird Fee.
