Plastic Stop Plus mulcher for small and large growers

The Plastic Stop Plus mulcher has been designed for highly professional use and for top performing operations (working speed up to 8 km/h). The PS by Checchi & Magli, as it's commonly known by users, is a machine that has been in vogue for a few years and is a must for those who produce vegetables on plastic film, paper, cellulose, and also on the increasingly popular biodegradable materials.

There are two models available, the PS14 Plus to be used with mulching materials up to 140 cm wide and the PS19 Plus up to 190 cm wide.

The most popular version is the one with the front stainless steel roller that guarantees a compacting and leveling on fields previously prepared with specific machines for working the soil. With no rollers, but with support wheels, the PS can be used where soil preparation has been carried out with specific machines such as stone buriers.

The film is laid by means of the combined action of front ploughshares, film-pressing wheels and rear tamping ploughshares. The premifilm wheels have the unique feature of being adjustable both in convergence and in camber, thus making it possible to work quickly and with excellent results, even in the presence of previously prepared mid-height plant beds.

The front tamping ploughshares can be adjusted in both depth and inclination. The posterior ones also have a practical adjustable spring to regulate the tamping incidence by acting on the pressure on the ground.

In order to guarantee an optimal tamping even on soils with stones or large clods, you can opt for the disc version.

In short, the PS with ploughshares is for soft or medium-textured soils, while the disc version is recommended for tough soils. The mulching film reel is placed on 2 reverse-rolling rollers very close to the ground, thus avoiding the annoying effect of the wind and facilitating reel loading operations.

An additional reel holder is provided for quick and tool-free replacement of the mulching material roll. It can be used in combination with the Wolf transplanter, allowing the film to be laid and transplanted in a single step.

Plastic Stop Plus can be customized with a wide range of accessories, first of all the device for the drop by drop irrigation system, both on the surface and in depth, but also with the microgranulator and the fertilizer spreader.

The Star version, with front ridge moulder, performs simultaneously the filling of the soil and the laying of the mulching film through the combined action of 4 front conveying disks and a shaped stainless steel roller. The PS Star Plus is highly appreciated by growers of melons, watermelons, pumpkins and industrial hemp, as it avoids the tedious stagnation of water above the growing bed.

For large areas, there are solutions available for mulching 3 beds at the same time, both with fixed and hydraulic folding frames.

All triple PS are equipped with a parallelogram for machine-independent oscillation, as well as a transversal joint for longitudinal oscillation and complete ground adaptation.
