Lidl is already selling fresh foods online in Spain, although for now the service will only be available in Madrid. The sales will be carried out through the online food platform Lola Market.
For now, the service will cover the Lidl stores in the center of the capital, and will soon be extended to supermarkets in the rest of the metropolitan area. After this first test in Madrid, the online sale of fresh products will be extended to the rest of the Spanish cities where Lola Market operates.
In order to continue offering the best value for money, Lidl will sell its products online at the same price as in physical stores, unlike most other chains providing the service through Lola Market. In this way, the online customers will be able to benefit from the same offers and promotions.
Customers can receive their purchases at home the same day, within one hour, or choosing the desired delivery time. All orders have a fixed shipping cost, regardless of the volume of the purchase or the number of items. To promote the service, the chain is offering a 10 Euro discount on the first purchase.
Lola Market has managed to stand out from other Spanish online sales platforms as the marketplace that offers the best shopping experience to its customers. This collaboration will allow us to gain experience in the online sale of food products and help us better understand consumer tastes."
For his part, Luis Perez del Val, CEO and founder of Lola Market, said that "the incorporation of Lidl supermarkets in the platform is a very important step for us, because we combine the widest range of supermarkets with the best conditions in terms of price and quality. It is a unique shopping experience that humanizes technology through personal shoppers."
