Online concept becomes a shop in the Lausanne Kursaal

Coop takes Fooby from digital to brick-and-mortar stores

Fooby is Coop's dynamic and highly successful digital food and lifestyle platform. Now the online concept is also becoming a real shop. A first store was opened in the former Kursaal-Théatre in Lausanne Bel-Air. The new store houses regional fresh produce, a juice bar and unique specialties.

The traditional hall just above Lausanne station opened its doors for the first time in 1901. Where once the stage, auditorium and gallery were, bakers now make handmade breads, coffee is roasted, juice pressed or cheese offered. In addition, there is a Fooby Market with fresh produce to go "Fooby is our culinary testing laboratory, and we are fully immersed in the spirit of the times, inspiring and shopping at the same time," says Marketing and Procurement Chief Philipp Wyss. The new store houses regional fresh produce, a juice bar and unique specialties.

Coop is the leader in culinary expertise, with Betty Bossi and Fooby in Switzerland. Wyss says, "We distribute millions of recipes every year at the points of sale, which has led us to take this step into stationary retailing with Fooby."

The Fooby products are currently available exclusively in the Fooby store in Lausanne Bel-Air. Other brick-and-mortar stores are currently not planned.
