The 50th edition of Prognosfruit was held from August 6-8, 2025, in Angers. Organized by the French Apple Pear Association (ANPP) in partnership with WAPA (World Apple Pear Association), the event brought together nearly 250 participants from 23 different countries. According to Sandrine Gaborieau, marketing and communications manager at ANPP, it was "a great success." The first European apple and pear harvest forecasts were presented. The outlook is stable overall, with a 0.1% drop for apples and a 1.4% increase for pears, compared to 2024.

"For apples, however, these figures mask disparities between countries. Among the main producing countries, France and Poland have announced a harvest increase of 3.6% and 3.4% respectively, while Italy has announced a drop of 3.5%. Germany is back to a good harvest (+14.7%) after 2 years of deficits, with slightly smaller volumes, while the Netherlands, Belgium, and the Czech Republic are announcing good harvests for 2025. On the other hand, many countries in Eastern Europe have suffered severe frost, which will have a major impact on the upcoming harvest."

"For pears, Belgium, the Netherlands, France, Poland, and Spain forecast higher harvests than in 2024, while Italy and Portugal announced declines of 24.7% and 3.1% respectively. The day was also enriched by numerous presentations and discussions on international markets, processing, the environmental impact of production, and carbon footprint.

This 50th edition ended with a technical visit to Anjou, first to discover the Dalival IFO site on varietal research and the tasting of the Stellar variety, to visit the innovative Beauvallon orchard, and finally, the LVL-Pomanjou fruit station of the Innatis group. "Everyone will have fond memories of this 2025 event, filled with rich exchanges and excellent conditions under the Anjou sun."

ANPP, in keeping with its commitment to eco-responsible orchards, wanted the event to be carbon neutral. The event's carbon footprint was measured by GreenFlex and will be fully offset by the equivalent of 2 hectares of eco-responsible orchards.
