Cobana is positioning itself as the market leader in the German avocado sector

"Unbroken consumer demand for avocados in Germany"

"Despite increasing international competition from regions such as India, Asia, and the USA, consumer demand for avocados in Germany remains unbroken," observes Felix Sperl, product specialist at the long-established Hamburg-based company COBANA. "The consequences of climate change, above all weather phenomena such as 'El NiƱo', but also logistical challenges such as the closure of the Suez Canal, will probably continue to affect us in the years to come. Nevertheless, we are striving to maintain and possibly expand our position as market leader in the German avocado sector."

Fulfillment of individual customer requirements
Decades of experience and innovation, as well as long-standing collaborations with producers and partners in carefully selected countries of origin, have been crucial in this regard. Sperl: "These partnerships enable us to control the production processes and meet the individual customer requirements of the respective buyers accordingly. On-site audits by the COBANA team, as well as ongoing advice and support from employees in South America and Africa, enable us to ensure the highest quality standards at all times. This, too, is a decisive factor for success in the German market."

Stability along the value chain
The company not only ensures seamless quality assurance but also a stable value chain that extends from production at the source to state-of-the-art ripening and sorting facilities in Europe. "What sets us apart is not only our extensive know-how but also the financial support we offer to selected partners," concludes Sperl.
