"We introduced a range of preservative products tailored for fresh pears at the Berlin Fruit Logistica.”

The quality and yield of Chinese fresh pears have significantly improved this season with a high marketable fruit rate. However, the recent surge in sea freight has impacted export prices, with rates to European ports increasing by up to fourfold. Moreover, unpredictable shipping schedules pose significant challenges for merchants, directly influencing product quality consistency throughout the logistics process and, consequently, their profitability.

As a leading provider of post-harvest preservation solutions for fruits and vegetables, SPM Biosciences (Beijing) Inc. showcased its offerings at the Berlin Fruit Logistica from February 7th to 9th, booth number hall26, B-80. The company primarily highlighted its customizable fresh-keeping tablet products tailored for fresh pear retailers at the exhibition. Debby emphasized, "The freshness of fresh pears at the retail end significantly impacts merchant profitability. Increasingly, retailers are adopting fresh-keeping sachets. Our Angel Fresh sachets have garnered inquiries from domestic and international merchants due to their simple and convenient application. By employing our fresh-keeping sachets, issues such as water loss, reduced hardness, and compromised taste due to logistics delays can be mitigated, extending the shelf life of fresh pears by up to 150%. Moreover, we offer customized freshness solutions tailored to different packaging or usage scenarios, with the option for customers to imprint their logos on sachets and cards."

Beyond retail-oriented fresh-keeping sachets, SPM Biosciences also highlighted its flagship product, fresh-keeping tablets for logistics and transportation. "Our 1-MCP preservation tablets are specifically designed to maintain the freshness of fruits and vegetables during container or truck transportation, whether for long or short distances. The product is easy to use, requiring merchants only to place the tablets in the enclosed transportation space. Additionally, we offer customized preservation solutions based on shipping schedules and fruit varieties."

With nearly a decade of experience in the Chinese market, Debby said, "SPM Biosciences boasts its own R&D, analysis, and service teams, and holds sales qualifications in countries such as Argentina and the Dominican Republic. We are actively seeking sales agents in other regions. Apart from our existing product range, we aim to collaborate with more fruit and vegetable wholesalers, exporters, packers, and agents to reduce losses in the supply chain. For new customers, we provide free samples for testing."
