Colombia: Lime, avocado and mango all see big growth in export figures

The total agricultural and agro-industrial exports from Colombia amounted to 3,784 million US dollars between January and May 2021, i.e., $604 million more than the same period in 2020 and achieved a growth of 19.2%, compared to the same period in 2020.

The main destinations were United States, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, Canada, United Kingdom and Italy.

Lime exports grew by 100.8% to $24 million, in third place was avocado, with an increase of 88.5% to $115 million, mangoes and their preparations rose by 82.5% and in the first five months of the year sold 12 million dollars.

Despite the growth of the export basket of agricultural and agricultural industrial products in the first five months of the year, according to the Ministry of Agriculture, The illegal blockade affected the export growth of some products in May.
