On 5 July, the "2017 Miss Grand" beauty contest was held in Thailand. 77 gowns that all represented cultural characteristics of Thai hometowns competed. After the voting was done, the best 20 went through to the next round. The representative of Chanthaburi province, which is known for its fruits, and especially its durians, used these fruits as its focal point.
