Fruit markets return to normal during Spring Festival

Imported fruit has been in hot demand during the Spring Festival season, for example, the sales of Chilean cherries in recent years has kept increasing. Generally speaking, imported fruits are more expensive due to their higher transportation costs and higher damage rates. However, they sold quite well during the past Chinese spring festival seasons, together with domestic fruits in fine gift packaging.

Despite this trend, from the end of last year until this year's spring festival season, the entire fruit market has been in a relatively low sell state. As far as it can be seen, the wholesalers' expectations were too high, as the final holiday sales did not reach their estimated figures. After the Chinese spring festival, the sales of imported fruits will continued to slow down, and by March it will come into the sales peak season for seasonal fruits such as pineapples, sales of large volume fruits or imported fruits will decline.
