Trentino - Südtirol: Current apple stock online

The Chamber of Commerce in Bolzano and the apple producers association ‘Assomela’ in Trento regularly publish the current stock of apple in the region Trentino – Südtirol. And the survey of February is now online. 

According to Assomela and the Chamber of Commerce the regional cooperatives had 923,300 metric tons of apples in storage on the first of February. While at the same time in 2015 there were 958,929 metric tons of apples available, and 840,276 metric tons in 2014. Over 50% of the stored apples consist of Golden Delicious (508,919 metric tons). Followed by Red Delicious (98,101 metric tons), Fuji apples (66,548 metric tons) and Granny Smith (59,948 metric tons). Compared to the previous years stock of the variety Gala is considerably lower. In the beginning of February there were 35,325 metric tons Gala apples available compared to a stock of 45,121 metric tons in 2014.

Since the beginning of January the stored apples decreased with 140,000 metric tons, about half of those were Golden Delicious (about 62,000 metric tons). And the stocks of Gala apples (ca. 24,500 metric tons), Red Delicious (ca. 16,600 metric tons) and Fuji apples (about 9,000 metric tons) decreased sharply too.
