Apirene Puglia, member of Alma Seges, signed an exclusive agreement with Dutch company Olympic Fruit BV for the commercialisation of around 1 million kilos of seedless grapes and another million kilos of seedless watermelons.
The varieties shipped to the Netherlands between July and December will be Sugraone, Thompson and Crimson seedless destined for retailers and wholesalers in the Benelux.
The first quantities will be shipped next week and the season seems to be the best in a few years thanks to favourable weather. Abundant high-quality production is expected both for red and white varieties.
"I am very happy about the agreement, I could not hope for a better partner. I hope we can confirm it in the future because we will double the production of seedless grapes in the next two to three years," commented Amleto Elia from Apirene Puglia.
