Piet Jansen embarks on a new life in Canada

After working for Arjazon Uienhandel B.V. for 34 years, co-director-shareholder Piet Jansen has decided to accept a new challenge. After a period of orientation and preparation he started a seed and legume exporting company from Canada, Arjazon Seed Trading Ltd, with his two sons.

They mainly focus on the export to Europe, but also export to a few other locations. In recent years a number of his children have emigrated to Canada. Due to the fact that his children who still live in the Netherlands at the moment also indicated that they would like to live in Canada, they decided to relocate the entire family, and to focus on extending their newly founded company overseas.

The day to day running of Arjazon Uienhandel B.V. will now be managed by the brothers Henk, Boudewijn and Arjan. Piet will remain involved as a shareholder and advisor. Boudewijn, who has regularly taken over the purchasing of onions when Piet was in Canada, in recent years, will now take up this position permanently. For over 30 years Piet purchased onions for Arjazon. He also made a lot of contacts in Eastern Europe, mainly Poland, for the sales of industry onions. This is how the trade in peeled onions was created. All of this put together means that many people know him personally.
