China approves Dole sale to Itochu

Dole Food Co. Inc. announced this week that it had received approval from China to sell its packaged foods and Asia fresh fruit business to the Itochu Corporation. The deal is now expected to go through within the next 30 days.

Dole is keeping its fresh fruit and vegetable businesses after the sale and has announced that C. Michael Carter, currently Executive Vice President and General Counsel, will add the titles of President and COO to his role.
