Turbana and Indianapolis Fruit Company partnered for Radio Disney's Annual Family Fun Day Experience on June, 16th, 2012 in order to showcase healthy tropical foods including Turbana's fresh bananas and plantain chips. The experience that Turbana and Indianapolis Fruit Company created was voted as the Fan Favorite, with over eighty different experiences contributing to the Disney event.
Turbana and I.F.C.'s Family Fun Day Experience allowed families to enjoy Turbana's fruit and snacks and also encouraged them to take salsa and merengue lessons. As most of Turbana's products come from Colombia, the experience also included information on the differences between a plantain and a banana, Colombian culture and Turbana's dedication to sustainability and social responsibility in Colombia's banana and plantain growing regions.
"The Radio Disney event was the perfect way to introduce Turbana Plantain Chips to the Indianapolis market," said Marion Tabard, Marketing Director for Turbana. "We received great feedback from all the families as they enjoyed our snack. We hope to do the event again next year."
Turbana is also collaborating with I.F.C.'s official blog "The Produce Mom" for another engaging experience, The Snack Exotic Contest. Participants are asked to print out the Snack Exotic logo, do something creative with the image, and post the logo on The Produce Mom's Facebook page by July 6th, 2012. The winner receives Turbana Plantain Chips and a $100 gift card to his or her favorite clothing store.
