Potato wholesaler and transport company Greydanus BV have invested in green energy by purchasing sun panels. This PV-installation produces a large part of the daily energy used. In addition the emission of CO2 has been reduced considerably by more than 35,000 kgs. The 288 sun panels are part of Maatschappelijk Verantwoord Ondernemen (Socially Responsible Entrepreneurship), with which Greydanus have been actively involved since the eighties. Apart from wind energy the purchase of the sun panels is the next project of Greydanus in the framework
of MVO.

Last year a water purifying plant of VAM was also put into use. With this installation
the potato cleaning water is used again. By using this installation the use of mains water has been reduced considerably. The sun panels purchased by The Sun Factory were positioned by Hoekstra Solar from Suwald and have now been active for more than two weeks. The directors of Greydanus mention that these projects are a part of the MVO policy of Greydanus. Directors at the moment are looking at the possibility to supply the entire company with durable energy.
