Samsung contributes to Planasa's digitization process

Planasa, a leading multinational company in the agri-food sector specialized in plant research, nurseries, and fresh products, has acquired different models of Samsung Galaxy Tab Active tablets to carry out its digital transformation in different countries, such as Spain, Morocco, Poland, and Mexico.

Planasa purchased different Galaxy Tab Active models (Galaxy Tab Active Pro, Galaxy Tab Active2, and Galaxy Tab Active3) so its field teams in different work areas, such as greenhouses, fields, warehouses, and other facilities can collect information. The goal is to have real-time access to the information coming from their farms to be able to analyze it faster so as to improve their decision-making and business strategy. This digitization process has allowed them to reduce the time in which they assess their productions by 75% and their financial closing by 10 days.

This process has allowed the company to create a single reliable repository where to store up-to-date data, allowing them to see details about their production, the materials used, and maintenance costs. This has led to a 5% increase in productivity thanks to information monitoring.

In addition, the use of the Samsung Galaxy Tab Active allows Planasa to develop its activity in complex environments, such as greenhouses that can reach up to 40ยบ C and 90% humidity, in warehouses with temperatures below zero, or in open fields where they can face adverse weather conditions, such as rain, cold, and dust. The S-Pen allows customers to digitally sign for the products they are delivered and workers to take notes at any moment. The tablet also allows scanning products and managing this information on the device without the need to use a specific terminal to capture barcodes. These tablets have greater tactile sensitivity on their screens so operators can use them with gloves or with wet fingers. They have a comfortable size and allow a great processing capacity.

The information gathered is protected at all times thanks to Samsung Knox; Samsung's security platform that also offers business solutions. For example, Planasa carried out the device deployment process with maximum security regardless of where the digital workstations were located in an automated and remote way using Knox Mobile Enrolment. Once the technology manager registers a device, the worker only needs to turn it on and connect it during the initial setup process.
