The SPAR Austria Group continues to see strong growth in Central Europe. Via a targeted expansion strategy, the Central European retailer is now operating in the Emilia-Romagna and Lombardy regions. The area served in Italy by the food retailer, which also operates in Austria, Hungary, Slovenia and Croatia, has now expanded to include all of northeastern Italy, the company said.
This expansion also requires a new logistics infrastructure. SPAR has therefore opened a new regional headquarters, including a logistics center for Emilia-Romagna, in Castel San Pietro Terme. 18,600 square meters of warehouse space and 1,700 square meters of state-of-the-art offices will be the future hub of expansion in Emilia-Romagna. The current 50 jobs are expected to expand to over 100 in the coming years.
