Product demo for the Pick and Place Delta robot

"See our robot, handling your product right at the booth"

ProEx Food, LLC will again be represented at this year's Fruit Logistica in Berlin. After the great success of the robot demos at the Pack Expo in Las Vegas last September, demos are to be held again at this trade show.

"We will be showing our gentle 'Pick and Place' Delta robot at our booth in Hall 9, Stand E-09, all day, and will be performing live demos every day between 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. Bring your own sample and watch the machine handle your product," says Nick Maglio, Director of Marketing at ProEx Food.

He explains the two common functions of the Delta robot with the special gripper system that the company has developed, using the example of processing fresh corn: "The robot in the application imaged here is for fresh market; the placement of finished cobs onto trays to be made ready for final packaging.

“Additionally, the other common sweet corn application places the cobs on cob saws, which use a camera system to determine where the cuts have to be made so that that cuts are made at optimal levels, and there is reduced waste. When combined with our x-ray system, we can see through the husks of the corn and the robot knows exactly where the kernels start"..

The robot arm can also save labor when processing and packing goods, and also for palletizing finished products. "We offer processors viable alternatives to the limited manual labor available, and we intend to prove it next week in Berlin."

In order to be able to demonstrate compatibility individually for each interested party, visitors to the demos are encouraged to bring their own products: "Our programmer pre-calibrated the machine to accommodate most products we expect users to bring, especially fruits and vegetables.  Bring your apples, peppers, corn, cucumbers, oranges, tomatoes, etc.; just visit us, bring your products and see for yourself!"
