Maersk A/S reported stable third-quarter 2025 financial results, supported by operational efficiency measures and higher activity across its main business segments. The company also adjusted its full-year guidance, raising the lower end of its profit outlook.
Financial results
Revenue for the quarter reached US$14.2 billion, compared to US$15.8 billion in the same period of 2024. EBITDA stood at US$2.7 billion, down from US$4.8 billion, while EBIT was US$1.3 billion versus US$3.3 billion a year earlier. The company distributed US$578 million to shareholders through share buybacks during the quarter.

Maersk expects global container market growth of around 4% for 2025, up from its previous forecast of 2–4%. The company also stated that disruptions in the Red Sea are expected to persist throughout the year.
Ocean segment
The Ocean division reported EBIT of US$567 million, up from US$229 million in the second quarter, though lower than the US$2.8 billion reported in the same quarter of 2024. The company cited the Gemini Cooperation as a factor in achieving cost savings and supporting a 7% year-on-year increase in loaded volumes, with freight rates broadly stable compared to the previous quarter.
Logistics and services
Profitability in the Logistics & Services segment improved, with an EBIT of US$218 million, compared to US$175 million in the prior quarter and US$200 million in Q3 2024. The operating margin rose to 5.5% from 4.8%, supported by cost control and steady performance in the warehousing division.
Terminals
The Terminals segment recorded another quarter of growth, with an EBIT of US$571 million, up from US$461 million in the previous quarter and US$338 million in Q3 2024. Throughput increased by 8.7% year-on-year, driven by demand in the Americas, Europe, and Africa. Terminal utilisation reached 89%, with some facilities nearing capacity.
Overall, Maersk's third-quarter performance reflected operational resilience amid variable market conditions. The company stated it remains focused on maintaining cost discipline and ensuring service continuity for customers across its logistics and shipping networks.
