Agrocolor inaugurates its new headquarters in Merida

Agrocolor, a leading certification body in the agri-food sector worldwide, inaugurated in Merida its new headquarters in the community of Extremadura. The event was attended by the company's directors, partners, and representatives of the Board of Directors, as well as by professionals and entrepreneurs from the region, and institutional representatives.

In his speech, the president of Agrocolor, Miguel Rodriguez de la Rubia, spoke about the growth of this company that has accompanied the producers and entrepreneurs of this region since 2012, facilitating their work, attending to all their needs, and helping them grow: “This region is very important for Agrocolor. We've grown hand in hand with the region's producers and marketers, in parallel to the development of the region's agri-food sector. Agrocolor's goal is to be present in the entire value chain of the agri-food sector, with solutions for all the links that help them to be more competitive. Our purpose is to provide the necessary tools so that our customers can guarantee food safety, as well as healthy and sustainable food to consumers.”

11 years with the Extremadura sector
With more than a decade of experience in the agri-food sector of the Extremaduran community, Agrocolor has managed to position itself as a leading certifier in this region, reaching 90,000 hectares certified under Integrated Production during 2022 in broccoli, cherry, stone fruit, pome fruit, and tomato crops, among others.

Other very relevant certifications for Agrocolor in the Extremaduran sector are those of GLOBALG.A.P. and all its Add-on, as well as BRC and IFS, among others.

In addition, Agrocolor is the first agri-food certifier in the area that helps producers comply with the export protocols so they can send their plums to Brazil, stone fruit to Canada, plum and peach to China, stone fruit to Mexico, stone fruit to South Africa, and apples, quinces, and pears to Israel.

Board of Directors
The Board of Directors of Agrocolor S.L. also met in Merida yesterday. The annual report of the company's activities was presented in the meeting and the Board approved the management report and the annual accounts for 2022.

“Last year's balance was very positive. In fact, coinciding with our 25th anniversary, we have managed to be the certifier with the most GLOBALGAP-certified producers in the world. We certify 8.3% of producers globally in IFA (Integrated Assurance of Farms), an emblematic standard of GLOBALGAP.”, stated Gerardo Romero, the manager of the company.
