Fresh Del Monte extends sustainable packaging gains

Global fruit and vegetable company, Fresh Del Monte, replaces bags with bands and clamshells with paper cups, employs reusable packaging, and reduces food waste.

Hans Sauter, Chief Sustainability Officer and SVP of Research & Development: “We sell avocados, grapes, tomatoes, melons, and citrus, among other fruits and vegetables. Our products include prepared fruit and vegetables, juices, beverages, snacks, and desserts, and are sold in more than 90 countries around the world.”

The company released the 2020 Sustainability Report several weeks ago. “We’re very proud of the steps we’ve taken, and are taking to create a more sustainable, equitable, and resilient food system,” Sauter stated.
