Whilst Iran already imports Vietnamese products such as peppers and coffee, they will soon be importing bananas, mangoes and ginger. The Vietnamese Ambassador in Iran recently helped a Vietnamese county negotiate the export of a first load of bananas to Iran. Iran mainly buys bananas from the Philippines, but hopes to diversify their supply.
