KFC has recently parodied the healthy-eating trend through their “clean-eating” burger. They carried out a social media campaign promoting the #cleaneating burger which sees the bun replaced by cauliflower, the mayonnaise by almond yoghurt and the steak by plain white chicken. The stunt was created using the fictive blogger, Figgy Poppleton-Rice, a clear parody of health food bloggers. They even went as far as to set up Twitter and Instagram accounts for their blogger with (fake) healthy recipes including tofu energy bars and spinach salad with ice cubes. KFC says that the idea was based on the fact that consumers are getting tired of the clean-eating trend and they used the campaign to promote a new burger called The Dirty Louisiana.
