Biofach and Vivaness 2017 exceed 50,000 visitors

The trade show duo Biofach, the world's leading trade fair for organic food, and Vivaness, the international trade fair for natural cosmetics, set a new record in 2017 and hit the 50,000 visitor mark. This time, the visitors travelled from 134 countries to the fair in Nuremberg. They were enthusiastic about the 2,785 exhibitors (259 of them at Vivaness) from 88 countries and were inspired by Germany, which won Country of the Year. In 2016, German households spent around 9.9% more money on organic food and drinks than in the previous year. The turnover amounted to EUR 9.48 billion, according the the Federation of Organic Food Industries (BÖLW). Increasingly more customers are also using natural cosmetics. With a market share of 8.5% and a volume of EUR 1.15 billion, the German natural cosmetics market is the strongest market in Europe, according to a joint survey by GfK, IRI, IMShealth and BioVista.
