New packaging and innovation at fair for asparagus and berry
During Europe’s leading trade fair in this sector, over 400 international exhibitors will present current information about their new products and services in Karlsruhe. “The two intensive exhibition days are important moments to meet and a perfect professional platform to exchange knowledge. The interest of German and foreign visitors and exhibitors in the trade fair increases every year,” states the organiser Simon Schumacher of the Verband Süddeutscher Spargel- ind Erdbeeranbauer (the Association of Southern German asparagus and strawberry growers, VSSE).
FAHRENKAEMPER with new FAHRENKAEMPER F1 vegetable peeling machine
The vegetable peeling machine FAHRENKAEMPER S1 is being presented to the industry for the first time at expoSE. Its main advantage is that it can switch between all sorts of vegetables sizes and lengths without changes to its software or the way it is set up having to be made. Its manufacturer, Fahrenkaemper GmbH, says that very little is lost during the peeling process. In addition, many parts of the machine are located outside of the peeling cavity, which makes them easy to keep clean.

Serwo packaging with new paper-fibre bowl for fruit and vegetables
Serwo packaging will be presenting a new paper-fibre bowl for fruit and vegetables at expoDirekt. The manufacturer has stated that the bowl causes very little damage even to delicate fruits because of its smooth surface and that its material is breathable, environmentally friendly, compliant with food safety regulations and printable. Another advantage is the fact that it saves space when it comes to logistics, because it is very easy to stack. It is available for the quantities of 250, 500 and 1,000 grammes.

In addition to a varied range of watering equipment, Bahrs GmbH.&Co.KG is going to be presenting a push-fit system that has been certified for drinking water. The system enables a water supply to also be used for food production and for purposes such as events like farm parties or mobile drink stands. Bahrs GmbH.&Co.KG is also going to be presenting a hose trolley that comes already assembled and is extremely robust thanks to its powder-coated steel structure. The hose trolley can be used for drinking water as well.

Atoplan Product with Christal Clear Minitunnel
When it showcases Christal Clear Minitunnel, Dutch company Atoplan Product will be presenting a new generation of asparagus mini-tunnel film. As part of it is 100% PVC, its thermal effect is about five times as great as that of current standard film. Complete transparency and an anti-dew finish ensure that whatever is beneath Christal Clear Minitunnel is heated quickly and thoroughly. It is available with pockets 100 µm thick. Early studies indicate that the film increases asparagus harvests by 30%, increases stem weight by 20% and shortens the plant growth by five days. It is suitable for both normal and M tunnels.

Lebosol’s latest creation is called Lebosol GOLD. Lebosol-Eisen-Citrat Gold is the company’s new self-produced standard for iron foliar fertilisation and contains manganese as well as iron. It is based on a nitrate formula which enables it to be absorbed quickly. Lebosol-Mangan GOLD SC is a combination of manganese carbonate and manganese nitrate, works evenly, and has a greater and longer-lasting effect than previous products. VITALoSol GOLD SC has a double effect: The nutrient suspension containing copper, manganese and sulphur provides a large volume of nutrients – and improves health and stress tolerance at the same time.

MMM Tech Support presents CG Mulit
The CG Mulit is an innovative, ion-selective measuring device that simultaneously measures nitrate, ammonium, phosphate, potash, calcium and even magnesium. According to its general supplier, MMM Tech Support, there are also versions that measure chloride and/or sodium. All the different ions are measured in one measuring process that takes just seconds. The device’s measuring range is wide and achieves high levels of accuracy thanks to three-point calibration. The device is operated using a free app and the measurement readings are saved and transferred to the smartphone by Bluetooth. The readings can then be forwarded as an Excel spreadsheet from the smartphone by e-mail. The device is suitable for measuring soil and substratum samples, for water and fertigation solutions, and for juice squeezed or pressed from plant organs. The electrodes of the different ion-selective sensors and the reference electrodes can be replaced individually.
