Following the success of the first edition of the Stonefruit Congress of the Region of Murcia, held last March, which has already become a key event for the stonefruit sector, the company Agromarketing and the Scientific Committee, which organised it, have already announced a second edition.
The more than 600 professionals who attended the First Congress, and the media coverage it attracted, are just two of the reasons to organise a second Congress, especially after the signing of the protocol to export peaches and plums to China.
The heads of Agromarketing, Arturo Soler and Antonio Santos, together with the president of the Scientific Committee, Pablo Melgarejo, announced the Second Congress last week at the Fruit Attraction fair, in Madrid. The visit to the international fair served to meet with companies and research centres and ask for suggestions to improve the next edition.
The Second Stonefruit Congress will be held over three days (9, 10 and 11 March 2017) and will feature speakers of the highest level, as in the previous edition, but adding an extra technical seminar (there will be two this time). The third day would be the tourist-gastronomic part, intended to promote the possible uses for stonefruit and facilitate networking.
The official website of the Congress,
www.frutadehueso.com, will continue to provide information about the next edition, including the speakers and companies planning to participate.
