The Rotterdam wholesale company, Wim van Gulik, has started directly importing ready-to-eat avocados and mangoes, "We now have contact with a supplier that can provide us both mangoes and avocados (in all sizes) year round. The avocados and mangoes are being sold under the brand name 'Sublime Gold'."
Van Gulik has been active in the fruit and vegetable wholesale sector since 1944. The company supplies to both the hospitality sector and the retail sector, "Our customer base includes, but is not limited to, many Japanese, sushi and Chinese restaurants in the Randstand area, where a relatively large amount of avocados and mangoes are consumed," says Lisa. Some of the exotic products are for personal use and we are also able to deliver on a large scale.
Van Gulik receives the exotic products 'ready to eat' which means they can be eaten directly or after two or three days, "Right now there is a good market for avocados and mangoes, and we can offer competitive prices," says Lisa.
