The Socialist Party of Ribarroja warned that the dismissal can lead to the disappearance of the cooperative and proposed for the town council to purchase the firm's 5,000 m² citrus warehouse, as well as the other company's properties.
The Socialist Party stressed on the cooperative's importance for Ribarroja's economy, which reached its peak in the years 2004 and 2005, when up to 9.2 million kilos of citrus from more than 2,000 associates were processed, turning the cooperative into one of the town's main sources of employment and prosperity.
