Main volumes in week 49

First small volumes of Chilean organic blueberries arriving

Awe Sum Organics has small volumes of organic blueberries arriving now from Chile, and larger volumes will be available starting at the beginning of December.

"At the moment we are air-freighting in small volumes of organic blueberries from the north of Chile. We have already started loading ocean containers of our Awe Sum Organic blueberries in Chile and our first ocean arrival will be on 4th December. For the first three
weeks it will just be a few containers each week arriving in Los Angeles on the west coast and by the end of December we will have substantial volumes containers arriving each week on both coasts, in both Philadelphia and Los Angeles," explains David Posner, President of Awe Sum Organics.

“Our 6 ounce clamshell pack is available now and starting at the end of December, when our larger volumes begin to arrive, our Pint clamshell pack will be available in addition to our 6 ounce pack.”

"So far the season is looking very good, with exceptional flavour and a good average berry size, quality has been excellent so far. We have been working with our growers in Chile for many years and they are all using the new varieties."

David said that so far the unrest in Chile has not affected the export. "Packing and shipping has all gone as it should - so far, so good."
