Honghui Fruit and Vegetables invests 280 million yuan in Malaysian tropical fruit orchard

Honghui Fruit and Vegetables Joint-Stock Co., Ltd. (hereafter referred to as 'Honghui Fruit and Vegetables'), announced on the 9th of October, 2019, their investment of 280 million yuan [39.5 million USD] in the subsidiary company Hong Kong Honghui for the establishment of a new subsidiary company in Malaysia. The new subsidiary company will be responsible for the construction of a tropical fruit orchard in Malaysia. The new subsidiary company filed all the relevant paperwork in Malaysia on the 7th of October, 2019.

Previous proposals submitted for this project show that Honghui Fruit and Vegetables plans to invest around 280 million yuan in the construction of a tropical fruit orchard that will cover a surface area of 1.214 hectares. The orchard will include a modernized plantation, a plantation research and development department, production and refrigeration facilities, offices, and accommodations. The first stage of development will focus on durian production. Subsequent development of other tropical fruit production will depend on market conditions as well as local soil conditions, environment, weather, and government policy.
