Direct flight from Malaysia to Zhengzhou carries 20 tons of durian

A direct flight from Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia to Zhengzhou in China arrived on August 27th, 2019. The airplane carried a 20-ton shipment of refrigerated, whole Musang King durian from Malaysia. The shipment cleared customs and was distributed on the Chinese market. Zhengzhou is located in central China. Representatives of the Malaysian side expressed their hope that Malaysian durian would find their way from Zhengzhou to all the corners of China.

The Malaysian special envoy to China, Chen Guowei, who is also the chairman of the Sino-Malaysian Trade Council, welcomed the shipment in Zhengzhou during a special ceremony. He explained that if the export volume of Malaysian durian to China reached 8000 tons this year, then Malaysian traders will earn 800 million yuan [111 million USD]. He further stated that in addition to Musang King durian, Malaysian traders also plan to export D24, Black Thorn, and 101 durian varieties to Zhengzhou.

This shipment of durian was supplied by Joo Lee Import & Export Co., SND BHD, Exofruits Industry SDN BHD, and Kami Food Services SDN BHD. The chartered flight was operated by SF Airlines.
