The Indonesian Ministry of Agriculture and Great Giant Pineapple Co., Ltd. organized a festive ceremony to celebrate the export of bananas and canned pineapple to China and Spain. The Chinese customs office has promised to give priority treatment to Indonesian pineapples exported to the Chinese market.
Data from Statistics Indonesia (BPS) shows that the export volumes of pineapples and bananas rapidly increased in the last 4 years, by 1,520% and 706.2% respectively. Indonesia mainly exports these fruits to Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and Southeast Asia.
