Anthony Costa - Costa Family farms:

“Export demand remains robust, particularly for high-brix, well-coloured fruit"

Costa Family Farms is located in Woorinen, Victoria, in the heart of the Swan Hill growing region. The area's warm climate and extensive sunshine provide ideal conditions for producing premium-quality stone fruit.

"We currently grow approximately 150ha of stone fruit across our orchards," said Anthony Costa from Costa Family Farms. "Our operation includes a diverse portfolio of yellow and white peaches, yellow and white nectarines, apricots, and plums, with a focus on delivering consistent eating quality and flavour."

"This season has commenced positively, supported by favourable spring weather, strong flowering, and healthy fruit set. Stable conditions have resulted in uniform fruit development across all varieties. Our crop volumes are tracking at stable levels with strong size profiles. Brix levels continue to improve as warmer weather approaches, and we expect excellent internal quality throughout the season."

Anthony said that demand remains consistent on the domestic market, with growing preference for premium Australian-grown fruit. "Retail programs continue to strengthen, supported by consumers seeking quality fruit with strong colour and high eating satisfaction."

"We export a significant share of our stone fruit production. Our primary export markets include Asia and the Middle East, with strong programs across China, Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, and the UAE."
