Peru’s blueberry exports peak at 21,000 tons in week 40

According to the latest data from producers and exporters, Peru's blueberry export peak for the 2024/25 campaign was reached in week 40, with an estimated volume of 21,000 tons. This figure represents a 12.5% decrease compared to the initial projection of 24,000 tons expected in week 42.

To date, Peru has exported more than 215,000 tons of blueberries, equivalent to around 55–60% of the total forecast for the campaign, which runs from May to April of the following year. Of the total exported volume, 44% was shipped to the United States, 35% to Europe, 15% to China, and the remaining 6% to other markets.

In the coming weeks, export volumes are expected to continue decreasing, confirming expectations of a shorter campaign and lower total production compared with early-season estimates.

ProarĂ¡ndanos (Pro-blueberries) stated that it will continue to monitor the campaign's progress, compiling weekly data from producers and exporters to update projections and provide the industry with accurate information for decision-making.
