Forty years ago, Michael Marker embarked on an entrepreneurial journey that today forms the basis for the success story of Marker oHG. It all started in 1985 in the basement of Hamburg's wholesale market. With borrowed start-up capital of 10,000 German marks, a VW bus, and unbeatable determination, the founder laid the foundation for the company that is now considered one of the leading suppliers to the catering and retail industries in northern Germany. Today, Patrick Marker, the founder's son, is the second generation of managing partners to steer the future of the family business based in Hamburg-Moorfleet.

With a range of over 15,000 products, from regional delicacies to exotic specialties, its own cutting facility for harvest-fresh ready-cut products, and a modern fleet of 50 vehicles, Marker oHG has become an indispensable partner to the food industry. "Sustainable business practices are not just lip service for us, but something we live and breathe," emphasizes Michael Marker. The company relies on long-term partnerships with more than 40 regional producers and has received multiple certifications from IFS Wholesale, BIO, and Demeter. This underscores Marker oHG's reliability and transparency, which are so highly valued by its approximately 800 customers in the catering, hotel, and retail sectors.
