China Meetup 2025, the mainland China-focused event linked to Asia Fruit Logistica, is set to return to Guangzhou from 8–9 September 2025. Organisers have confirmed broader international participation this year, with companies and delegates attending from across Asia, Europe, Latin America, and Africa.
Following its 2024 debut, the two-day event will feature a business expo and conference, alongside new initiatives including the China Study Tour and the inaugural AFL Fresh Produce Reemoon Golf Cup. Countries with confirmed participation include Chile, Peru, Ecuador, the UK, France, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Senegal, and Cameroon, as well as regions within Greater China.
The China Study Tour begins on 6 September, immediately after Asia Fruit Logistica in Hong Kong. The tour offers participants an opportunity to visit key sites across the country's fresh produce supply chain. It includes a visit to Sam's Club's Futian store in Shenzhen, one of the retailer's first outlets in mainland China, where delegates will gain insights into procurement and supplier engagement practices.
The tour will also stop at Joy Wing Mau's (JWM) headquarters in Shenzhen. Participants will observe JWM's logistics operations, including its fully automated cold storage facility for fruit and vegetable handling. A final stop is scheduled at Guangzhou Jiangnan Market, a major wholesale distribution centre in southern China, serving both domestic and imported fruit markets.
Places for the study tour are limited, and international interest has already been confirmed from countries including Ecuador, Chile, Peru, Taiwan, New Zealand, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, the UK, and Argentina.
Coinciding with the tour is the first AFL Fresh Produce Reemoon Golf Cup. Organised in partnership with Reemoon and supported by sponsors Gold Anda and Zespri, the event is designed as an informal networking opportunity for senior professionals in the fresh produce industry.
In addition, the China Meetup 2025 will include a Premium Buyer Programme. This initiative provides registered buyers with a set of benefits, including access to tailored match-making meetings with exhibitors, VIP entry to the 8 September dinner reception in Guangzhou, and access to the Premium Buyers' Lounge at Asia Fruit Logistica in Hong Kong. The programme is designed to facilitate targeted business discussions and strengthen buyer-supplier relationships across the region.
Visitor registration is currently open for China Meetup 2025, the China Study Tour, and the golf tournament. Exhibitors at Asia Fruit Logistica 2025 are eligible for a discount, and customised participation packages are available for international groups. Due to limited capacity, early registration is recommended.
