New maritime route enhances Peruvian blueberry exports to China

The first shipment of Peruvian blueberries for the 2025-26 season has arrived in China via the newly opened Chancay Port, signalling improved trade connectivity between Peru and China. The consignment, delivered by Fruitist (formerly Agrovision), was welcomed at an event on June 28 at Shanghai's Huizhan Fruit and Vegetable Market, attended by diplomatic and industry figures as reported by Guojiguoshu.

The Chancay Port is being hailed as a game-changer for Peruvian fruit exports, reducing maritime transport times and helping maintain the freshness and quality of produce. This development is expected to benefit both Peruvian growers and Chinese consumers by streamlining the logistics chain and enhancing product competitiveness in Asian markets.

With faster shipping and growing support from partners, Peru's blueberry exports to China are expected to rise steadily. Growers and distributors are hopeful this marks a positive step for stronger trade and better access to fresh fruit in the months ahead.
