Morocco tops 100,000 tons in avocado exports

Morocco's avocado export sector has reached a new milestone, surpassing the 100,000-ton export mark, as reported by EastFruit. This development occurs amidst a season characterized by increased global volumes and evolving trade patterns. Despite the downward price trends mainly due to oversupply from Latin American regions, Morocco's producers achieved a second consecutive year of record-breaking exports. These outcomes were aided by the quality of fruit regarding size and consistent climatic conditions.

Within the context of a crowded European market and intensifying price competition, Morocco's contribution underlines its solidified position and burgeoning impact on the international stage. Global avocado markets are experiencing shifts, with heightened supplies from Peru and other Latin American countries putting pressure on prices in primary markets. Even with robust demand, particularly within European and North American regions, considerations such as quality, logistics, and ease of market access are increasingly pivotal in determining trade dynamics and pricing structures.
