The airline is set to transport up to one million kilograms of cherries to key destinations, supporting the export of this highly sought-after fruit.

Cherries hold special significance in Asia, symbolizing good luck, prosperity, and family unity during Chinese New Year celebrations. With 80% of New Zealand's cherry crop exported during this period, Air New Zealand Cargo plays a crucial role in meeting this seasonal demand.
The airline is working with exporters across the country to transport cherries to markets including Taipei, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Japan, as well as smaller shipments to North America. Through partnerships with other carriers, New Zealand cherries also make their way to Vietnam, further expanding their global reach.
