Last season’s demand means great supply of melons this winter

Super Starr International, a papaya and melon grower, shipper and processor, announces promotable volumes available for cantaloupe, honeydew and Hami melons starting in January.

“We had a great season last year and based on retailer demand, we’ve planted to ensure an even better season this winter,” said Lance Peterson, president and third-generation farmer of Super Starr International. “Stop by our booth at IFPA later this month and let’s discuss how we can help you meet your shoppers’ growing papaya and melon needs.”

Promotable volumes will be available for cantaloupe, honeydew and Hami melons starting in January.

For three generations, Super Starr has farmed in the U.S. and Mexico to produce year-round winter melons and papayas by growing, packing and shipping in-house. Super Starr controls the quality of its products from planting the initial seed until it’s placed on store shelves. The grower also provides Fair-Trade Certified papayas.

Attendees of IFPA’s Global Produce and Floral Show can stop by booth #3456 on October 19-21 to speak with Peterson and place orders for fair-trade papayas and winter melons.
