Francesca LaSpina - Romeo’s Best

"The weather has been very kind to us and volumes have been good"

The main grape harvest in Australia is yet to start, but the first harvest at Romeo's Best started on 10th July with the ARRA SweetiesTM variety.

Back in July the harvest was looking good and according to Francesca LaSpina, Executive General Manager at Romeo’s Best it has remained so and it is plentiful.

"We will continue picking in the Far North, Queensland until the end of October and then we will move into Emerald. We are still picking the ARRA Sweeties varieties," said Francesca.

"The weather has been very kind to us and volumes have been good, as expected. Our sizes are 22mm+ and Brix levels 18+."

Demand has continued to be steady as there are no other Australian growers currently on the market, only US sea freight.

The ARRA Sweeties season runs from July to October and Romeo’s Best hope to harvest 500,00 cartons annually.
