Provelpack: "Each bottle of Exotica contains the oil of 18 avocados of the Hass variety obtained by cold pressing"

"Extra virgin avocado oil is a very interesting and healthy alternative to other vegetable oils"

While they are an exotic product, avocados have become popular and deseasonalized, to the point of having become a part of the population's regular diet. In the last two decades, according to FAO data, avocado exports have multiplied almost eightfold as a result of an increase in the demand and consumption of this fruit worldwide. One of the main reasons for this is its high content of fatty acids, which in addition to making avocados an extremely versatile ingredient, enhance the fruit's nutritional properties.

This unique concentration of oils (mainly monounsaturated and polyunsaturated) is what led the Malaga-based company Provelpack to develop its Exotica extra virgin avocado oil.

"Provelpack is a company specialized in tropical fruits (avocados and mangoes) with more than 20 years of experience. Given our strong interest in supplying healthy and innovative products, we decided to bet on avocado oil, a lesser known oil, but with excellent nutritional properties," said a spokesperson of the company led by sisters Ana Belén and Alicia Rodríguez, who are an example of female entrepreneurship.

"It is such a versatile product that it can be consumed both cold (for salad dressings, smoothies, hummus or on bread) and hot (to cook with it), as it does not lose its beneficial properties or flavor when exposed to high temperatures."

Each bottle of Exotica contains the oil of 18 avocados of the Hass variety obtained by cold pressing. "Quality ripe avocados are used to produce Exotica avocado oil. The fruit's pulp is pressed, the peel is removed and the oil is separated through a centrifugation method, thereby preserving several of the nutrients," said the Provelpack spokesperson.

"Avocados have become a trendy part of our diets, as it is considered a superfood, given its high content of components with regenerative and antioxidant properties, as well as its effectiveness against cholesterol. It stands out for its beneficial cardiovascular action and is considered to be one of the healthiest products on offer."

"It is recommended to include avocado oil in your diet for several reasons. It lowers your blood pressure, alleviates arthritis symptoms, tackles psoriasis and other skin problems, improves your heart's condition and lowers cholesterol, and boosts nutrient absorption."

Extra virgin avocado oil stands as a very interesting healthy alternative to other oils of vegetable origin used in the culinary industry, in which olive oil is the leading product. "Avocado oil has characteristics that make it stand out from olive oil. It contains good amounts of betasterol (phytonutrients that help balance cholesterol levels), contains a higher amount of proteins, penetrates deeply into the skin (it is more moisturizing) and contains good amounts of antioxidant vitamin E," said the Provelpack spokesperson.

"With our Exotica extra virgin avocado oil, we want to offer consumers a new product and enrich the range of healthy oils available on the market," said Ana Belén Rodríguez.
