Vegan dairy brand creates the world’s first potato-based plant milk

Vegan dairy brand DUG, created by Veg of Lund, has launched what it describes as the world’s first-ever plant-based milk made from potatoes. The Swedish-based food innovator developed its latest milk alternative together with professor Eva Tornberg at Lund University. The creamy and vegan-friendly plant-based drink is available in three flavors: Original, Unsweetened and Barista.

Dug’s formulation contains a potato base, pea protein, maltodextrin, chicory fibre, rapeseed oil, and natural flavourings. It is free from added sugar, gluten, lactose and soya while being fortified with vitamins including D, B12 and folic acid.

As reported on totallyveganbuzz.com¸ the brand is already available in Sweden and has just launched in the UK through Amazon.
