Stéphane Layani, president-manager of Semmaris-International Rungis market, inaugurates his presidency at the head of the World Union of Wholesale Markets (WUWM), which he will preside for a duration of 4 years. He takes the place of Zengjun Ma. Stéphane Layani keeps his current functions at Semmaris.

The inauguration of the presidency of Stéphane Layani will be held during the WUWM Conference that will take place on June 25th in Florence. The theme of the conference will be: “the distribution of fresh products in the post-Covid-19 world: challenges, opportunities and avenues to guarantee resilient and sustainable food systems and access to healthy food.”
Stéphane Layani is a former ENA student. After creating the Economic Committee for Medicines, he worked for several ministers (M.Lebranchu, F.Patriat and C.Pierret). Stéphane Layani then became deputy director of the Consular Chambers. And after a short period at the Inspectorate-General of Finance, he became the general director of ANGDM in 2006, in charge of the liquidation and follow-up of French collieries. In June 2012, he was nominated as the president-manager of Semmaris, the company that manages the International Market of Rungis.
