"Green jujube prices in China 50% higher than last year"

Currently, fruits are flooding into the Chinese market. In addition to cherries, apples, and oranges, jujubes are also a popular product in this market. "Our milk jujubes from Fujian have just entered their peak sales season. Each year, the period ramping up to the Spring Festival is our golden sales window, when huge volumes are sold. The production season in Fujian lasts about half a year. Early varieties become available in October, and supply lasts through to April of the following year. We mainly offer two varieties, the green jujube and the milk jujube. The two varieties are different in appearance and in taste. The milk variety has a more appealing shape, higher juice content, and a crisper texture, so their prices are a little higher than the green variety,” Mr. Zhu from Xiaoguojiang E-Commerce Co., Ltd. commented.

Xiaoguojiang is one of the companies that have observed the huge impact of online sales on the market. “Sales are going very smoothly through a combination of online and offline channels. Compared with the same period last year, the price of green dates this year is about 50% higher, mainly thanks to strong demand from online purchases, while the price of milk jujubes has not shifted much from last year. Currently, green jujubes are sold at about 1.8 yuan per half a kilo, and milk jujubes are sold at about 4.5 yuan. I expect market competition to become more fierce with the increasing volumes available within the next few weeks, and prices to decline slightly.”

In addition to jujubes, Xiaoguojiang E-Commerce Co., Ltd. also supplies a variety of other fruits, such as durian and loquats, to the Chinese market.
