A large fruit-packing and processing plant is proposed for Southeast Kelowna, British Columbia. The venture is proposed by Okanagan Sunshine Fruit Packers Ltd., a produce wholesaler based in Oliver, and a 64,000-square-foot, two-storey building is planned for the southwest corner of Pooley Road and Rose Road.
“We grow almost every item available in the renowned Okanagan Valley of British Columbia,” the company stated. “Our broad product range includes tree fruits such as apples, cherries, peaches, nectarines, runes, plums and many vegetable items.”
Kelownadailycourier.ca reported on the plans for the project, submitted by company representative Jagdeep Singh Gill; they are now being reviewed by City of Kelowna planners. Documents show the plant would have a maximum capacity of 100 persons.
