Red pulp
Importer Alfred Ringwald of the Fruit Agency René Ringwald GmbH in Lahr mainly sells Spanish citrus brands, including Clemen Lady and Frutimur. The longtime marketer is seeing a clear trend towards red-fleshed oranges. “Under the Ros brand we market leafy clementines and the red-fleshed Cara Cara orange varieties. Furthermore, we also market the red-fleshed Valencia Late and Kirkwood Red Navel. We expect to bring the Valencia Late from Spain to market in about four weeks.”
Although the Spanish oranges are currently still by far the top priority, the importer claims that the citrus season is currently slowly coming to an end. Ringwald: “Then consumers expect other products such as apricots and nectarines. We will start with these in about two weeks, marketing them under the quality brand Anabella.”
